It has taken me almost four years
to realize that it is better to be empty
than full of things you don't believe in
indirectly people had been teaching me
that same lesson for ages
but it took you
to get it stuck in me
under my nails like carpet fibers
it took me almost four years to realize
you were the only reason why
I had been tearing myself into confetti
and trying to play myself off like a puzzle
but they will never find all the pieces
not this time.
But i think this time
maybe you should open your eyes
cause you've been missing the whole ride
and I know its scary but
this time
I can't bring myself to turn away
because I would resemble you
a profile
silhouetted by moonlight
tearing off limbs to build bridges
so that others can get over
the puddles you've cried.
